Karnataka bypolls are being conducted in 15 constituencies. The byelections were necessitated due to the disqualification of the 14 Congress and three JD(S) rebel legislators after they resigned from their assembly seats in July. The result is due on December 9. The BJP needs to win at least six of the seats to remain in the majority in the 225-member assembly.
