At least 17 people, including two children, were buried alive after four houses collapsed as heavy rain lashed Nadur Village near Mettupalayam and surroundings in the early hours of Monday. The fire and rescue services personnel retrieved the bodies and sent them to the Mettupalayam government hospital. Nadur village is about 50km from Coimbatore.
